Please join us for an evening of conversation with artist Lim Sokchanlina. Initiated by journalist Colin Meyn, audiences will hear about Lina's thoughts and processes in his ongoing photography work and current solo exhibition Wrapped Future, after which the audience is invited to continue an open dialog.

Lim Sokchanlina (born Prey Veng, 1987) works across documentary and conceptual practices with photography, installation and performance. Using different strategies, he calls attention to a variety of social, cultural, economic and environmental changes in Cambodia resulting from globalization. He is a founding and active member of the artist collective Stiev Selepak / Art Rebels. Lim has exhibited widely in Cambodia, including at the National Museum. His solo shows include My Motorbike and Me (PhotoPhnomPenh, 2009) and Wrapped Future (SA SA BASSAC, Phnom Penh, 2012). Group exhibitions in 2012 include Rupture and Revival: Cambodian Photography in the Last Decade, Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore; Between Fantasy and Reality, Contact Photo Festival, The East Gallery, Toronto; Riverscapes IN FLUX, a regional exhibition in Hanoi, Ho Chi Min City, Manilla, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, and Jakarta.

Colin Meyn graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and has since been working as a journalist and designer based in Phnom Penh. Apart from writing on education, the arts and business in Cambodia, he also is the founding editor of Lift magazine, a publication of the Phnom Penh Post that aims to engage young Cambodians in civic society and culture. Colin is currently the editor of the Cambodia Daily weekend magazine and writes on arts and business.
