Since our opening in 2011, SA SA BASSAC has been consistently growing a by-donation art library, with a focus on contemporary art and culture, both in English and Khmer language. Also accessible in our reading room is a significant archive of contemporary art, artists and events from 2000 – today.
In Cambodia, where the few public library collections are very limited, and where the culture of reading is still in recovery mode due in part to the Khmer Rouge era and subsequent regimes, we believe that access to knowledge and archives in printed form is vital to supporting artists and culture.
